FEBS National Award 2014

George Karathanasis (Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece) was the recipient of the 2014 FEBS National Award for his outstanding contributions to finance research. George Karathanasis is Professor of Financial Management at the Department of Business Administration of the Athens University of Economics & Business (AUEB). He holds a BSc from Piraeus University, and has studied in City University , Reading University, and Aston University Business School, England. Prior to his appointment at AUEB, he has taught Financial Management for more than 10 years at the University of Aston, he was member and chairman of various university committees and doctoral admission officer. He was head of graduate and postgraduate programs and vice chairman of the Chartered Institute Of Valuers. Professor Karathanasis was responsible for executive and educational seminars on Basic Business Finance, Advance Business Finance, Money and Capital Markets Etc. for the Ionian and General Bank of Greece and many Organizations via EEDE and the Center for Business Research of AUEB. His consulting activities are in the areas of educational and business finance matters feasibility studies development projects and financial matters as well. His publications have appeared in many professional and research journals.
